Well, we are almost to the end of “Mary Poppins”. This is the last week and as I prepare to say goodbye to Winifred and the Banks family, I am feeling reflective on the last three months, and especially the last few weeks as we have been in our run.
First of all, I have come to LOVE Winifred. She has been so much fun, as has the whole Banks clan. Getting to put her clothes and wig on and go out and share her story has been a joy and something I won’t soon forget. The story of the Banks family could be many families’ story and maybe we’ve been able to touch some hearts in our performances.
My fellow actors have made this so much fun. New friends and old have made my days and nights a treasure. It’s hard to believe we are almost done and I will be sad to not see these people everyday next week. It will soon be time to move on. I am approaching the end of my school year as well and it’s getting CRAZY! So maybe in a way it will be a blessing to have some extra time.
In the meantime, I will enjoy and treasure every second of this week and every moment I get to be Winifred. I will cherish my fellow actors, especially my two Georges and my sweet Janes and Michaels. I will hold this time forever in my heart. Yes, I am a sap. Yes, I am terribly sentimental. I don’t care. I will probably cry on closing night. Maybe even ugly cry. I don’t care. Am I not lucky to have been a part of something that was special? Isn’t it a wonderful thing to have people you care about so that it makes you sad you won’t get to see them every day? Everyone should be so lucky.

My old friend, Jonathan and new friend, Pat!
With one set of Jane and Michael, and Dressing Room selfies with the best cast around!
With my other George and Jane and Michael again.
My sister came to see me!
I had so much fun with this girl – this is our third show together and this has been the most fun. This is us- post wigs. #scarymary!
