So you’re stuck in your house for an indefinite amount of time? Here’s a list of binge worthy television/movies to pass your time. These series will surely bring a smile to your face, in the midst of fun, romance, intrigue, mayhem and foolishness!
Downton Abbey
Downton Abbey (roughly 45 hours) Who doesn’t love Lady Mary, Mr. Carson and all the gang? With six seasons of intrigue and romance, this pick will keep you busy and take you from just after the Titanic sunk to the early 1920s. You can also follow up with the movie that was released last fall for an additional two hours! Available on Amazon Prime
Gilmore Girls
Gilmore Girls (about 115 hours + 4.85 for the “Year in the Life” on Netflix) Rory and Lorelai and a quirky New England town will provide hours of distraction. Follow Rory from her Sophomore Year through graduation from college. You’ll want to move to Stars Hollow after this binge. Available on Netflix
The Great British Baking Show – in all it’s versions!
The Great British Baking Show (lots and lots because there are so many incarnations of this show) If you haven’t caught this show yet, WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN? This show will make you want to bake, bake and bake some more. Watch out for those soggy bottoms! While the hosts changed, the fun didn’t. I hope you stockpiled some baking supplies! Available on Netflix
Encore
Encore (about 11 hours) This charming show reuniting high school musical casts to remount their productions is terrific. It will warm your heart and bring tears to your eyes (in a good way!) The episodes on “Oklahoma” and “Anything Goes” are especially touching. Available on Disny+
Hart of Dixie
Hart of Dixie (about 76 hours) If you like Gilmore Girls, you’ll enjoy Hart of Dixie. A New York doctor transplants to the Hart of Dixie and mayhem, and romance ensue! Available on Netflix.
Jane the Virgin
Jane the Virgin (about 99 hours) The show proved to be silly and wonderful at the same time. Based on a Telenovela, it was endearing, fun, romantic and just plain fun. The lat episode will have you crying and wishing it could go on another 99 hours. Available on Netflix.
Smash
Smash (about 22 hours) I LOVED this series about mounting a Broadway Show. While it was panned by a lot of people, I found it wonderfully entertaining with top-notch talent and catchy tunes. Megan Hilty and Katherine McPhee were wonderful. Throw in some dreamy Jeremy Jordan in Season Two and you will be happy you tuned in. I bought this one, I don’t believe it’s available streaming right now.
That should get you started! Enjoy the viewing! Comment below with your suggestions!
